Colonial Baptist Church

Colonial Baptist is a relatively young church having begun as a Bible Study in Pastor Ricky Knight's home.  A church was organized from ten members March 2002 and not long afterward a move to the Conference Center of the La Quinta Inn, Arlington was made for services.  Land and a house was purchased and modified for worship and the church moved into it's first building in 2004.  The church looks forward to the day when a new worship center can be constructed on the property.  Pastor George Jainchill became Colonial's new pastor August 2010.

Our Basic Beliefs

• We believe in the infallible, verbal inspiration of the whole Bible and that the Bible is the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice (Psalm 119:160; 2 Tim. 3:16, 17).
• We believe in the personal triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in divine perfection (Matt. 28:19).
• We believe in the Genesis account of Creation (Gen. 1; 2).
  
• We believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ, Matthew 1:20.
• We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ (John 10:30; John 1:1, 14; 2 Cor. 5:19).
  
• We believe that the suffering and death of Jesus Christ was substitutionary for all mankind and is efficacious only to those who believe (Isa. 53:6; Heb. 2:9; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Peter 3:18; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 John 2:2).
• Salvation is wholly by grace through faith in Christ, Ephesians 2:8; and that all believers are preserved eternally, I Peter 15; John 10:27-30.
• The bodily resurrection and ascension of Jesus, and the bodily resurrection of His saints, I Corinthians, Chapter 15; the second coming of Jesus Christ, personal and bodily, as the crowning event of this Gentile age, Acts 1:11, to set up His kingdom on earth and to rule upon the earth one thousand years, Revelation 20:6.
• The doctrine of eternal punishment of the finally impenitent, Matthew 25:46.
• A scriptural church is a visible assembly of baptized believers, covenanted together under New Testament law for the purpose of carrying out the Great Commission, with an unbroken history from the personal ministry of Jesus on earth to this present day, 1 Corinthians 1:2, 12:27, Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 3:21.
• We hold what true Baptists have ever held: that the Great Commission was given to the churches only; that in kingdom activities the church is the only unit in associated work; that each church should exercise equal authority; and that the churches should meet their responsibilities according to their several abilities.
• All co-operating bodies such as Associations, Conventions, boards, committees, etc., are and properly should be servants of the churches, Matthew 20:25-28.
• We believe that there are two pictorial ordinances in the Lord's churches: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Scriptural baptism is the immersion of penitent believers in water, administered by the authority of a New Testament church in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Lord's Supper is a memorial ordinance, restricted to the members of the church observing the ordinance (Matt. 28:19, 20; Acts 8:12, 38; Rom. 6:4; 1 Cor. 5:11-13; 1 Cor. 11:1, 2, 17-20, 26).
• We believe that miraculous spiritual manifestation gifts were done away when the Bible was completed. Faith, Hope and Love are the vital abiding Spiritual Gifts (1 Cor. chapters 12-14).
